Happy Birthday, Little Gnome!

by Rachael on February 25, 2014

Transit Museum birthdaySaturday was his birthday, so Grandma and Grandpa came from Connecticut and we went to the New York Transit Museum, because among his favorite things of course are trains, which he calls nee. For an hour or so he ran up and down all the old nee while the rest of us tried to keep up with him and his brother, and then we returned home for dinner, homemade chocolate cake with plenty of frosting, and a few gifts, including his very own green scooter.

I expect that like his brother, he will shed his babyness in this, his third year. With delight and sorrow I watch him grow — into less and less my baby, and more and more his own little boy.

Happy (belated) birthday to your little guy! The Transit Museum is such a great place – and a perfect destination for nee lovers. My daughter turned three last month as well and I can very much relate to the paired joy and sadness we feel as they grow older.
