In addition to connection, I believe that discipline is grounded in self-discipline. Our children learn what we live.
In other words, we all have a lot to learn around here!
I tend to be highly self-critical, so I like to remind myself that what my boys are learning from me is hardly all bad. L, for example, has learned to keep his baby close, as I do mine.

Doesn’t this scene make you think to yourself: I have taught him love and connection. Or something so wonderful about your spirit and the gifts you are giving him? I sure hope so. That’s what I see in your son….if I saw him on the street, I would oooh and ahhh like an 80 year old auntie and I would give you and your partner a big fat thumbs up for raising a young boy whose imaginative play includes THIS THIS THIS. High five!
