Mondays at The Variegated Life: three favorite links.
I’ve been enjoying Jennifer Keishin Armstrong’s series on freelancing, and, as someone who tends toward disregulation, I especially enjoyed this post on the need for a regular schedule.
In my dream schedule, I wake at 4:30 a.m. to meditate and write before anyone else is up (yes, really). At Page-Turner, Roxana Robinson explains the necessity of writing in the morning.
At Grist, David Roberts reflects on Newtown and empathy. “If we are to survive the 21st century,” he writes, “we must learn to … feel globally.”

That first one, about the schedule, spoke to me in its simplicity. I might try to adopt that general rhythm (of course, finding time for children to overtake most all of it — ah, I see part of the problem right there…).
