On My Mind: Stuck in Connecticut

Mondays at The Variegated Life: links to some stuff I’ve liked …

A blizzard hit the East Coast the day after Christmas, and so we’re staying at my dad’s a bit longer than we had planned. Here’s how things are looking over here:

Grandma and Grandpa thought the train set was for the Critter.

Meanwhile, we’re missing this and this back at home.

The pile of things for the Critter under the tree was somewhat bigger than we had expected. I sympathize with Seonaid at The Practical Dilettante, who was struggling with Christmas present traps before the holiday.

At Seth’s Blog, he says show up to do the work that matters. But also give yourself a weekend. Alas, too often I find myself giving up the weekend; whether or not the work actually matters, sometimes it’s just got to get done. Amber at Strocel.com seems to have a better handle than I at least on what you don’t give up when things get busy.

These photos of breastfeeding mamas at the Natural Parents Network are so, so beautiful. I envy all of them. We have just two or three really crappy photos of me nursing the Critter.

Sometimes you have to listen so, so carefully to hear I love you, by Sarah at API International.

Merry snowed in Christmas. We’re staying a little longer too and it’s a mix of snowbound craziness and cozy family time.

I’ve been reading Seth’s last few blog posts with high interest too. I especially liked his “busy-ness versus business”. Hoping to strike into the new year channeling more Seth into my life.

I heart Seth. That is all.

Hope you get home safe and sound, soon!
