Mondays at The Variegated Life: links to some stuff I’ve liked …
I dread those days when the morning host on WNYC tells me to expect a “wintry mix,” which is shorthand for a sleety snow that quickly turns underfoot into a disgusting sludge of ice, slush, and mud. Winter in the city just isn’t pretty. If it looked like this (at the Parent Vortex) or this (at blue milk), maybe I wouldn’t mind the cold. But it doesn’t, and so I do.
At Spilt Milk, Elizabeth reflects on the growing independence of her little one and sees that “love is separating from need, coming into its own, taking form.”
At Seth’s Blog, he asks, What are you working on? It’s a question I used to be ashamed to answer. And now, among other things, I can say I’m working on a collection of poems about mothering and this blog….
And at Strocel.com, Amber tells us that Mom’s Crying Again. I should admit my envy; I wish that I could cry more easily. And, hey: tomorrow I’ll be hosting a guest post by Amber, on discarding conventionality and crafting her life as a work-at-home mom!
